On August 14, the two most impatient planets, Mars<\/a> and Jupiter<\/a>, make an exact conjunction<\/a> (meetup) in talkative Gemini. It’ll be almost impossible to keep our thoughts to ourselves, so prepare for the misunderstandings (and rumors) to fly. We\u2019re already bracing ourselves for some spicy election clips.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking of which, August 19 is the start of the Democratic National Convention<\/a>. And it just so happens to coincide with one of the most insane days we\u2019ve seen in the stars for a while, with a full moon double T-square<\/a> criss-crossing the skies. (That\u2019s saying a lot, if you still have your protective paper glasses from a certain solar eclipse on April 8<\/a>!) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For starters, on August 19 there\u2019s a full moon in Aquarius, the sign that rules politics and society<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well-timed, except it just so happens to be opposing Mercury retrograde in dramatic Leo and in a harsh 90-degree square<\/a> to disruptor Uranus<\/a> in staunch Taurus. Will there be tough questions, hard lines and strong opinions\u2014at the very least? You bet your ballot there will. With all of these planets in rigid fixed signs<\/a>, nobody\u2019s backing down easily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second T-square, which is in the more adaptable mutable signs<\/a>, happens between Mars, Jupiter, Saturn<\/a> and Venus<\/a>. Think of this like a swarm of paparazzi and major news outlets, all reporting on the heavyweight drama happening at the DNC and beyond. Even more debates and tough questions will circulate, giving everyone a lot to ponder\u2014including some possible curveball intel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A significant “opening square”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Part of this second T-square involves an important 90-degree square between Jupiter (in Gemini)<\/a> and Saturn (in Pisces)<\/a>. It\u2019s significant because it\u2019s what\u2019s called the \u201copening square\u201d between these two planets, a key moment in the 20-year dance that Jupiter and Saturn do. Every two decades, we have what\u2019s called a Great Conjunction<\/a> of Jupiter and Saturn, where they arrive at the same point in the sky and appear as a single, bright star from our vantage point on earth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On December 21, 2020, a Jupiter-Saturn conjunction in Aquarius (dubbed by \u201cthe Christmas star\u201d by the media) was believed as an important moment that moved humanity deeper into the Age of Aquarius, a time when community, technology and togetherness would become the presiding values over material wealth, property and accumulation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The August 19 Jupiter-Saturn square serves as a checkpoint, as we\u2019re a quarter of the way through this cycle. The timing, and the pattern in the stars today, is eerie to us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
